How everything begun
Martin holds a diploma (M.Sc.) in biology and is an autodidact with over 20 years of experience in hoof care. His hoof care career originated in 1990s in professional endurance riding when the German farriery reached their limits at least for competitions and races. That is why Martin decided to accept the challenge to improve the hoof care in one of the most extreme equestrian disciplines to stay competitive without the dependence on foreign farrier.
Martin benefitted from exchange with the worlds leading farriers from US, France, Spain and Australia whom he regularly met on world and euro championships and the big endurance rides.
It have been those experts who have seen Martins talent for complex hoof problems and encouraged him not only to take over the hoof care for his team but for lots of international riders.
Martins’ success did not stay under the radar very long as the word about his talent spread very fast across all equestrian disciplines. Martin gives advise to numerous professional riders all over the world.
Today
Today, professional riders, horse owners and enthusiasts benefit from Martins exceptional expertise in equine footing optimization. In his legendary workshops participants benefit from over two decades with thousands of horses of experience and an unique eye for innovation in hoof care techniques. An competent owner is always to the good of the horse. That is why Martin loves to share his knowledge with everyone who is willing to learn.
Annika Katholnig
How everything begun
Annika simply a natural in hoof care. Even though she is in professional hoof care since two years, she proved her excellent eye for right footing. Annika grew up with horses and made her way up to the German juniors national team in tetrathlon.
Although Annika is not competing anymore, horses are a very important part of her life. She saved her mare from being slaughtered and prepares her carefully to be an eventing horse.
As the health of any horse is a key factor for any rider’s success, Annika became interested in horse´s health very early and finished an apprenticeship as an Alternative Animal Health Practitioner/Holistic Animal Practitioner and focused on hoof care.
Through her friend and internationally suscessfull endurance rider Ulrike Pottrick, she met Martin who soon discovered Annika’s talent and potential. Martins methods and knowledge closed exactly gap of knowledge she has seen in the education.
So, Annika participated in some of his workshops, accompanied Martin to his clients and build up her own client base in northern Germany. In September 2015 she became a certified F-Balance podologist (by Daniel Antz), which is a very popular and more and more upcoming hoof care method world wide.
Today
As Annika proved an incredibly good eye and impressive skills with handling horses, Martin an Annika started their Equipoo Hoof Care service and travel arround the world.
